My husband is clutching my leg, fast asleep while I'm typing away furiously here. He has to work at 6 am, me, 7am. I'm doing some research for our shoe website, and some freelance graphic design and web work for a client. Haha, campaign manager by day, voodoo graphic designer by night! Well, I thought I should do a quick update.

We hardly ever cook at home anymore because we have been meeting so many people! We discovered that by meeting people and talking to them helps us open up and keeps us inspired, plus we get so much encouragement, advice and even contacts and more opportunities. Mind you, we are newlyweds, and haven't been spending much time with the outside world last year.

I'm starting to lose sleep as well, trying to cope with work for the shoe business (I shouldn't really call it work) and freelancing. My husband is only doing casual work now as he is starting Vangoh, so I'm the one with the steady job for now, and I freelance because it helps pays the bills. On top of that, I have to think about shoe designs, website, ad campaigns, the lot....

I love my life. It's tiring and all, but I'm doing something I truly love. I better remember this line when I get cranky tomorrow morning from lack of zzzz.

I'm actually sitting here thinking, how did I get here? This is great! Got the love of my life, got to design for a living, and have lots of shoes!

OK, night night.

I haven't cooked for a week or two, which is quite strange. I think the stress of juggling work, freelance and shoes is getting to me. Well, that and trying to lose weight for my wedding this end of the year.

Yes, I'm getting married again on the 26th of December 2009 (ehem, to the same person!!!) My parents in Malaysia insisted on a celebration at home, back in my home town of Sungai Petani. Hubby and I got married last March in Applecross. A little garden wedding, pretty simple and 70 guests. I'm quite simple really, the opposite of Bridezilla. I was printing table cards and seating arrangements the night before, lol. Anyway, the wedding this time will be about 500 guests! The pressure is on...

I can't believe we are so close to Christmas, about two more weeks!

I just finished designing the packaging for our shoe gels. You know how Scholl has Party Feet, the gel that you slip into your shoes for more comfort and stuff? Well, we are going to provide them in our store as well! I'm so excited, because my friend has come up with this brilliant idea of doing things a little differently, and going retro. We designed it together so that it's funny and cool, comic book style, inspired by pop art and Lichenstein comics.

Here's a little sneak peek at what we did:

In case you were wondering, that hole is where the clear plastic is, showing the shoe gel. :)

Certainly something different and not done before :)

Anyway, I think I'm getting inspired to cook again. Hubby made me curry yesterday after getting sick of outside food, haha, he's nice.

An Introduction

Hello!

Phew, here goes. First post. Anybody out there?

So much pressure to have a good introduction to this blog, I've actually delayed for quite some time, lol.

Well, I shall start with this:

I just love shoes.

Back in uni or college, my parents tended to groan whenever we walked past a shoe store in a mall (Yes, I do go shopping with my parents, they are cool people). "No more shoes!", or "Don't you have enough" they would say, and mom would eventually have to drag me out, although she usually ended up with a pair or two herself.

By then, dad would be hiding in Starbucks. He knew he only had a few moments to escape before he would be dragged into the store as well, and be forced to comment on how the shoes look on us, about twenty times. I know he likes me in Guess heels though ;P

Fast forward a few years, my husband looks at the shoe shelf and complains "I have no space for my shoes!" Well, it didn't take long before he became a shoe addict too, so we just got a bigger shelf (an interesting story in how we acquired this shelf too, which I will tell one day).

Anyway, yes, I love shoes, but this is not going to be a blog about shoe love, at least, not purely.

See, about six months ago, my husband decided to start a business in...you guessed it: SHOES!

I thought it would be great for me to blog about this new and exciting journey. In fact, it is just about time, because we've just been to China to find the best shoes, and we hope to offer WA some more exciting options. We have ordered the shoes, and they are arriving early next year!

Don't get me wrong, I love the shoes here, but is it only me, or are there either sky high heels, or ballet flats, and not much in between?

My dream is to buy heels I can actually walk in for longer than two hours! Don't quite understand why I can't find any shoes that are 2-3 inches, good style, good quality, and affordable.

I do love those 4 inch + stilettos, but I need something to wear to work, or shopping that looks good and won't kill my feet.

Well, looks like my dream is coming true!
